    Street Drag Racing

Last night i was out cruising and had a drag with this other commodore. Just up the road there was a cop with a laser gun i got doing 220 KM/h in an 80 zone. I live in adelaide is there any way that you know that i could be able to keep my license or is there no chance.

In english: about 130 in a 45. Don't know about the Austrailian rules, but not too likely. Ever got a ticket before? Be nice if ya did and Egg Nog test (put you screen name on a piece of paper and put it on your shifter) to prove you can get in the car and the car is yours.

Here in the UK the current standing is along the lines of 10% +2mph of the limit before prosecution (a fixed penalty and points, how much depends on how badly you were driving).

I think the highest you can get away with before an automatic trip to court is 96mph in a 70 limit (possibly), but obviously if your driving is less than that but of a bad standard they won't be leniant.

You were doing 275% of the limit, in Australia, in an illeagal street race.
Your lucky you weren't charged with dangerous driving, I sure would have done.

    For all you non-metric types 220km/h = 136mph in a 50 limit.
    Thanks for all the fish

its like havin a license here when you're ~17.
geez.....wtf were you thinkin? tryin to kill other ppl just cause you though you wanted to beat someone?

you know you're lucky you didn't go straight to jail right?
here just for illegal street racing, no matter if its only 20MPH(mph not kph) they take you straight to jail.(thats for illegal street racing, not for doin 20 over limit alone.)

it isn't that bad in australia especially in south australia. There is a pile of new laws that are coming in soon. They are called anti-hoon laws. The can take your car off you. It will be illegal to rev your car at traffic lights. But at the moment they can't even do you for dragging. They can only do you for speeding if they have proof.

but they had a laser gun so i am done. It wasn't like an illegal street race it was just a guy came up to me at the lights he revved his car i revved my car we took of and both of us didn't want to back off.

i will post some pics of the car i was in.
