I'd take an Alpha Romeo, the newer ones don't rust over here and the 3-series was the best selling car in Britain last year, how is that for common?

AR's reliabilty problems are more continualy niggling than catastrophic failure these days. Although replacing the plugs on four pot T-spark engines will cost around £120, for example, and I think even BMW would struggle to rape you of that much cash.
