    BMW ///M5 vs BMW ///M6

    which do you think is better? M5: 500hp, 0-60 in 4.5 secs, 4012lb (1821kg),$81 200. M6: 500hp, 0-60 in 4.5 secs, 3769lb (1710kg), $96 795. I'd go for the ///M5 for looks but the ///M6 for performance.

The M6 because it isn't as ugly as the M5, and that carbon fibre roof is pretty awesome. Automatics ruin both cars though.
i was waiting on a moment, but the moment never came. all the billion other moments, were just slipping all away. i must have been tripping, we're just slipping all away. just ego tripping.

oooooh contentious point there.... M6 has a head start because its a coupe, but if you see a dark blue / maroon M5..... takes your breath away. M6 is black only imo.

To me, the M6 is uglier. It was written by several motoring journalists on several magazines, that the M6 is a much more agile and edgier car.
Money can't buy you friends, but you do get a better class of enemy.

They haven't got automatic gearboxes, they are manuals with automated clutches.

The fact its a Coupe and based of a 6 series.

Black M5 for me. A 500Hp sedan could come in handy.

The latest edition of 5th Gear in the UK featured a track shootout between the M5 and M6. They seemed extremely closely matched, and I certainly can't see the justification in spending £20k more for the M6 over the M5. I'm not a huge fan of either car really, I'd take a Quattroporte or an RS4 over either car if I had the cash.

You can get the full episode here - http://www.finalgear.com/shows/fifthgear/9/6/

If you can't be bothered with that I'm sure the individual feature will be on Youtube or Google vids some time soon.

It's an automatic. I don't care about prissy "automated clutches" "formula one style gearboxes" and fancy transmissions that have your next gear in queue.

It's not a manual unless there's a manual clutch and a gated shifter.

I don't like them either, but that doesn't make them automatic in the usual sense of the term...

About the cars themselves I think they are way to complicated, all I want in a car is to be able to jump in and drive, in those you simply can't, you've got adjust the suspension, the diff, the engine, the gearbox, the lot. They are the engineers, why don't they give us a finished car(s)?
