it really is impressive just how many of the little winglets it has lost. much smoother, more organic shape. also shows just how much lower the front wing is.

I honestly think they both look fantastic. The complexity of the 08 is intriguing but the simplicity of the F60 looks so much more natural.

It's a wrong view for a comparison. Try front 3/4 and everything becomes clear.

Il nuovo regolamento impone un design apparentemente strano... ma è bellissima ugualmente... sembra l'auto di Prost!

For the first time in yrs I find Myself really interrested to see the release of the new cars. Can't wait for the tech explanation of how the wing moves etc. and how those mirrors affect airflow. rear diffuser does'nt hang out like I thought it would. WOW

I think the 2009 is better looking but neither would get my vote as a good looking formula car. Both look rather odd and more like a product of odd rules than a product of form following function. That isn't to say form isn't following function but that function is overly dictated by rules rather than by a natural evolution of race car design.

Removal of many of the aero appendages really cleans up the looks but I suspect there are still a lot of rules that limit the under tray size or the location of the side pods (hence they start so far back). The stepped nose has always been an ugly feature trying to get around the size limits on the front wings. The tall rear wing definitely speaks of rules limiting width. From the top the narrow track is evident. Finally, the silly F1 13" rims have never looked good.

Of the top flight racing cars I think the mid 90s F1 and Champ cars look far better. I especially appreciate the lower, flatter look of the Reynard Champ cars just before they were also slowed.
