Compressed air engines and cars already exist.
Again, regenerative woudl not be very good as compression generates LOTS of heat which has to be dissipated -- that is lost energy
Electricity is the best for re-generative ( Well flywheel works well to but has the issue of SERIOUSLY affecting the handling -- prescession can be a bitch )
The Shocks can be used, but think of the weight Remember you'er not looking at very high pressures or volume.

What about setting the fan at an angle.

And I like this idea of an electric car that costs every 3 seconds or so...

Google 'Eaton Hydraulic Launch Assist'. Being introduced in some refuse trucks, and I think that 'Tonka' concept thing had it too.

Can you imagine how uncomfortable that would be? You're going to feel the switch from drive to coast, same as you do when changing gear, doing that constantly would get annoying. Hit the right (wrong? ) longitudinal frequency and seasickness may come into it

The angle of the fan isnt go to make any difference either, you still need energy to drive it.

Variabl epitch propellors do it better and more readily adjusted.
