Yes, we have... sorta - 90X.

2011 Peugeot 90X - Images, Specifications and Information

Details of 90X will be revealed this Thursday: From 5pm until 11pm on February 3, 2011, Peugeot will turn 136 avenue des Champs Elysées, Paris, France, into a major motor racing attraction. Team Peugeot Total's drivers and technicians will be on hand to meet the public, while Peugeot's latest endurance racing challenger – still known under its codename 90X – will take centre stage.

I think it is a shame that there is not really a strong gasoline contender. It is also kind of hard to evaluate how much better diesels are as a big name factory team has not run a gasoline car (I would say AM is not spending Audi/Peugeot money on their car).

I won't be saying that just yet....Wirth/HPD for what little amount of money they are spending were punching pretty high above their weight class before for the P2 car. Now that they are in the P1 again it'd be interesting to see their 2011 car thats supposed to be quite a departure from the P2 car which it will be based on, and how that leads to their 2012 car which is supposed to be quite interesting...

And its still not yet known if in fact the new Peugeot will be a diesel again...I don't know the math in the formula and how they will work out right now but its not known for sure at this stage if in fact the diesel will still have the advantage...

I had forgotten that Peugeot may run a gasoline engine.

The issue with the ARX was that it was not really designed with Le Mans the primary goal, was it?

Not the old P1(ARX-02a) car, but the new P1(ARX-01e) will be infact based on their P2(ARX-01) car that was born from the Courage chassis....Its interesting that they chose that route since it means they need minimum changes because the new P1 engine rule is infact basically the old P2 engine rule(with maybe a bit more power I'd imagine), so they are basically re-classing their P2 car(with ballast probably) and runs bigger tires, which would require them to re-do the bodywork. I wonder though if they would go the whole way and do the same size tire front and rear again...

I thought I may have read somewhere in the past that the peugeot 90X will have a 3.0 Twin turbo V6 petrol. However this must be wrong because the rules don't allow that. Ah well, only 1 day to wait until all is revealed.
