The Judd by far is the better engine. I heard that a GV5 was taken out of a car at Le Mans last year and put on the dyno and ran for another 24 hours and it went perfectly

And now you are comparing a state of the art LMP V10 with DOHC, 40valves, electronic fuel injection and all sorts of lightweight, exotic material to a "Low tech", pushrod OHV, 16 Valve V8 runs on Carburator.....

I am not even remotely suggesting those motors are advance, but to get these things to rev to 10k is nothing short of spectacular.....

Remember too that Panoz's old V8 was basically a Detuned Roush NASCAR V8 to make only 600bhp on restrictor. And Dyson's old Riley & Scott was also using the same style of motor.

So Toyota will be all conquering there too, unless the "regulations" will be changed to prevent that. Not unlikely...

I wasn't thinking when I said that because Ford and GM are like Toyota in other countries. I may sound bias but I hope Toyota fails at the attempt to overtake them.

Toyota's move to NASCAR may seem puzzling, but it sounds like clever advertising. In terms of publicity and sales, perhaps the other racing series they've entered hasn't given them as adequate a return on investment as a well-run NASCAR presence would. This is aimed squarely at the vast U.S. market, and a strong Nextel Cup effort may increase Toyota's already strong popularity here.
