round the world in ......... days?

what car would you use, if you were planning to drive around the world?

and how long would it take you?

in my mind i would want something big obviously with 4wd something in the region of a mitsubishi warrior

but i don't know how long it would take me, i'd probably get hijacked along the way

    any ideas?

It depends. If I were using roads, it would have to be an Audi Quattro, but if I was touring the wilderness, none other than a Landrover Defender would be my choice.

I would definitely go by roads, and a BMW 850CSi would be my weapon of choice.

Cedric - I sound like a chipmunk on there. Some friends of mine were like, "were you going through puberty?" I was like, no I was already 20, I just sound like a girl.

    Realisticly...
I've managed to get my mates Defender stuck quite a few times, and if theres no one to pull you out...
So with minimum stress... No idea how long though. How long did it take Ewan McGregor?

But okay - if its a race

Easy. A modified W123, or a Land Cruiser.

VW fanboy answer... None other than HPA Motorsport's twin turbo .:R32. Fast, quick, comfortable. Seating for 4.

But I'd probably pick the rugged, always reliable Army surplus Hummvee. Desert camo, slantback. 50cal optional.

I thought they werent' allowed to sell Hummvees ex-army !!
I'm sure I read somewhere that it was too costly and difficutl to de-militarise them and they were all to be crushed at the end of their useful life.

I'd never heard that. I've seen a few H1's in camo that weren't being driven by people in uniform. But I could be wrong.

If that is the case, I guess I'll just have to go Grand Theft Auto on them to get one.
