    Weight Loss

So lately I've been doing nothing but sitting on my ass and hanging out and I've lost 12 pounds in like 2 weeks...I'm thinking this can't be healthy...I don't have much of an appetite anymore, just a coffee in the morning, small lunch around 2 and then small dinner...

Is this something to be worried about? Anyone else had this happen? It seems like I should get this checked out or something...

i havent had this happen but its probably nothing to worry about. you should try just forcing yourself to eat and see how that goes.

were you on normal weight before this started? Check your body mass index (BM!)

I'm also worried about my weight loss. I've become skinny as heck lately and I'm looking for any way possible to gain weight. I'm under my BMI index but I do eat a lot, and I don't smoke...anybody got any ideas? I mean should I start drinking protein shakes and gulping down glasses of olive oil and butter? I've been told to start eating more McD's fries, chips, and coke/pepsi.

Is there any healthy way of gaining healthy weight?

According to leading scientists - few beers every now and then should do the trick.

in your case I would definitely go for a medical check-up.

are you a vegetarian? if so, quit that. if not, how often do you eat steak and bbq and fry chicken? you should do it more. also you should start working out more, thats hwo i gained weight. i used to be 5ft8 and i weighed about 150 my freshman year after i started working out a lot, and eating a lot i weighed about 170. i currently weigh about 180...a lot easier to put it on than take it off haha.

Your toast mate get out the shovel start digging your finished!..

In all seriousness everyone goes through patches like this, I at times have less hunger and feel like sitting around doing nothing, It's more mental then physical has something gone wrong to make you sit around? Something upset you? Or you just can't be bothered?.. If your not sick don't worry to much get up off your rear and walk to the park and have a nice sit and smell the fresh air it works great.

Go talk to the doctor to be sure everything is ok. I bet that you are fine.

If you're of a sporty nature, but have been having some time off, it's quite possibly that you've lost some muscle mass. I seem to recall you talking about doing weights a while back. Not sure about 12lb in two weeks, though.

To be honest, it's nearly a stone. If you're any sort of sportsman, you'll have a pretty good idea where it's gone from your body. If you're not exercising, it's unlikely to be burnt fat.

one word, cottage cheese. actually im serious. its one of the best ways to safely gain weight. It has every single amino acid you need and GOOD fat. just eat a tub of that every week or so, youll start gaining some weight, exercise at the same time and youll build muscle

Nothing emotional has happened, and I watch scrubs alot (sit com about doctors) and as silly as it sounds they mentioned that being tired and losing weight is a symptom of diabetes.

My BMI is 29.4, which says is highly overweight, but I'm really athletic and I remember in health class that BMI is only accurate for average people. (Not bragging here just trying to be honest, I mean I'm not jacked/ripped whatever, but I definitely have more muscle mass than most people)

I'm not worried about the actual weight loss, since I gotta say, 13lb's later and I look fantastic, but the underlying cause is what's got me worried.

I think I'm probably fine it's just the rate of loss which alarmed me.

Has it been really hot and humid the past 2 weeks? Because when it gets like that here I don't feel like eating either.
