Don't know, after all it's a bit silly to have an almost "sprint" race when you try everything to gain 1 tenth on the track and then you can loose one second in the pits.
Also, recently the quantity of fuel at the beginning of the race and how pit stops were working, were basically the only things to add a bit of "interest" in the mix, so avoiding it could help finding something better, or kill what was still there.
I tend to embrace the first option, looking at motorbikes' races, where the fuel isn't an issue but tires are when at the end of a race they are running out of rubber.

yeah, what's the point of being the pinnacle/fastest event in motorsport if the drivers then have to baby it around the track in order to make it around the track.

Now that you spoke about tyres, is it possible for any tyre company to develop such a high level racing tyre in half a year? I doubt FIA will allow Bridgestone to support both series.

Michelin would be the only alternative if Bridgestone for some reason cant supply the FOTA teams, which i cant imagine why they wouldnt be. Surely the EU would be on the FIA's back if they tried to limit Bridgestone as i'd imagine it would be against some anti competition law.

Michelin's '06 tyres would be 100x better than what Bridgestone are currently supplying as well.

back in 2006 there were two companies making tires, so supposedly the competition should have resulted in better tires.
Maybe, but I wouldn't dare to compared them to this year's one, so many things changed, among which, the cars too.

I think this has an oportunity to turn out well for the sport, since it gives some impetus to try to change some of the things wrong with F1 right now, and we all know there are some things wrong. But if this turns into another CART-IRL thing where both sides are too stubborn to do anything it could go very badly.

The Italian commentators spent the whole British GP claiming how well the FOTA is doing, how good are their intentions, and how bad FIA is, how few Ferrari were shown recently during GPs converages and so on.
I'm pro FOTA at the moment, but such kissing asses is a bit too much.
