    BMW 8-Series?

I was doing a littel playing around on the computer, and i think now it would be a cool idea to have a BMW 850 or 840, but ive heard they had very complex engines both V8 and V12, i was wondering what you guys think, the intial purchase price for a V12 850 is only about 18 thousand, but ive heard upkeep and maintenence is hell, just wondering what you guys know about it

im not sure about the V12s...

but, i do know that you want to avoid any V8 made before '96...the '95 and older V8s are the 4.0L version rather than the 4.4L. these older engines have a nikasil alloy block that has a had a history of problems...although some of the motors were brought back under recall and there were several fixes for the problem all the way up to a complete engine replacement...you can do research regarding casting numbers and service records and what not to see if the problem has been fixed

my family had a '95 740i that had problem after problem so i know first hand

I've always adored the 850CSi. It's supposed to be a pretty hot car.
