    Gran Turismo 5

    It has damage!

    And sadly, NASCAR!

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2uQ2ayvvWY"]YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 - Official E3 Trailer (HD)[/ame]

    Here's the E3 trailer.

And if anyone wants to merge an existing thread, fine. I wanted to post it in the Gran Turismo 5 car wishlist thread, but there's way too much speculation and fluff.

And, I decided to make this thread because since there is a Forza 3 thread. it's only fair to make a Gran Turismo one too.

As I said proper rallying is coming apparently. That's good.

Theres discussion over on the forza forums about the inclusion of licenced races, (IN GT5 and wether its a good feature to inlcude)

I've come to the conclusion that forza people prefer to create the cars and races themselves - and couldn't care less for pre made cars.

Perhaps with higher levels of tunability in GT5 (including the visual side) it wouldn't seem like such an important thing?

it looks great. the options look great. the race series are..nice to have, but it is something i never found myself wishing for before. something ido like about the GT series is that they do have Aus model cars.
i'll reserve judgement til i play it though i hope they revamped the gameplay.

i agree that the other thread was too jumbled

things like this make me realise why we are waiting so long for this game. the fact that its not rushed or toned down sets it apart from other similar games. the amount of detail and variation makes the GT games a work of art. And eventually worth double the retail price it goes for which you cant say for many games these days. really looking forward to this. We're probably looking at a Q1/Q2 2010 release.

Considering one UK spokesperson mentioned a holiday '09 release, and then at E3 was quietly contradicted and they cant even confirm a '10 release, Im not so sure on a '10 at all.

Maybe they're waiting for Forza to catch up.. it'll be out in time to compete with Forza 5...

    ...maybe.

It does look good, but really the only thing it has that interests me is rally races. That's something you can't get in Forza. Its true though, forza people care less for premade cars and more for making their own monsters.

But that's because the tunability in the Gran Turismo series was never really insane like Forza with the engine swaps and all.

I'm sure that aspect could be revamped and made to be more in depth, instead of just adding a stage 3 turbo mod.

Sony does have an history with delayed games, and that's precisely what's killing them with the PS3. IMO there's no PS3-only game out right now that's totally worth buying the console. Not even MGS4.

It's 100% sure people would have jumped on it right away if GT5 and FFXIII would have been available in its first year, especially weaboos.

At least they salvaged their fate with that BD player. I know that's all I do with mine.

i don't expect GT5 to be anything less that great. it just remains to be seen if it's great enough to warrant a PS3 purchase, especially for those like me who have an xbox with FM3 coming. maybe they'll do a package deal?
