Your opinion was relevant until you mentioned the Testarossa.

    I'm afraid.

DIAF old man. Embrace Ferrari's attempt at gaudiness.

If I have to embrace 80's gaudiness, and you know that I like the 80's at least as much as anybody else, I'd rather do it in a Countach, especially in terms of looks.

The Testarossa is too much, how can I put it, Don Johnson?

That is the whole got-dang point. It is Enzo's cocaine enduces response to the Countach, but more about boxiness and flat V12iness and strakiness than wedgieness.

It is one of those cars that were on slightly old posters when I was a kid, it looks awesome, and I always assumed it was beloved until I learned about haters that somehow thought junk like the 328 were cool.

I personally prefer the 328 to the Tesatarossa in terms of styling.

The thing is though, what the 80's are renowned for are interesting cars and cars which were faithful to its manufacturers principle. For me the Testarossa is neither of those.

If there has to be something bad about the 80's, and I guess there does indeed have to something bad about the 80's, it's the Testarossa.

    And shoulder pads.

    I have a deep abiding want for a 512TR.

That is because you are an inherently good person. I think the original is the one to have though; burn the M with fire.

They really didn't get lucky with that front and rear on the M, no.

I'd love a TR or Testarossa, but I'm afraid of the required upkeep and parts prices.

I wonder if you can convert the 512M to the older 512's front and rear clips, maybe find a wrecked Testarossa and work from there.

The 512TR had some pretty substantial handling upgrades and a little more power.

We don't talk about the M around here. There was just the Testarossa and the 512TR.

It's better a hella lot, obviously!
Targa line seems to work good on 911, for which it was designed.

IMHO the very last 'Ferrari' was the F40.
A no compromise thinly disguised racing car, as the originals were.
Sadly, the FIAT influence diluted the gene pool far to soon.

Considering that they have been diluting since 1969, I'd say there is still a long way to go.
