I chose the BMW, only because I raced on of my friends her '04 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro and won. Although I think the only reason I won was because she's female. btw both cars have automatic transmissions.

    Here... well...

    This is a famous motto.

"The BMW 3 Series. Like bottoms, every arsehole's got one."

Mercedes for the whole better-looking, not seen as much thing. I don't care how well the thing drives... I need comfort.

    A4 all the way
the 3 series is so ugly, expecially the inside ...
the a4 has a much better interior and atleast it has 4wd ... sometimes

I'd take the S40, just to be different.

well i think the s40 is a lower class, for the price of a 330i you can get a S60R..

    BMW E46 330i > Merc C320 > Audi A4 > Volvo S40
I like them in this order. A4 is clearly the choice if you need AWD but for all else the other Germans have it beat, imo. The 330 better be a manual as with automatics the MB C320 is better. The Volvo S40 is based on a Mazda3/Focus platform and doesn't really compete with these cars.

I'd take the BMW because it has good driving dynamics. I also think that it looks better than the other cars, which have IMO bland styling.

Well if we were talking coupes, I'd say G35, but sedans (I don't like the look of the G35 sedan that much), I'd go with the A4. My ex's parents have an A4 wagon with the 1.8L turbo, and that thing can haul ass, not to mention the awesome build quality, and the AWD. Second choice (a close 2nd place) would be the BMW.
