    Car audio set up help

It all seems to make sense to me, but I just wanted to check. If I get a 4 channel amp, a head unit and 4 speakers, thats gunna work fine yeah, even if they're different brands? (probably a JVC headunit, Pioneer amp and Pioneer speakers) Not planning on installing it myself.

Yea it shouldn't matter what brand you use...Now I have a Phoenix Gold Amp and 2 Eclipse Subs, and they work fine together...

Keep this in mind, Idk how much your speakers are putting out, but I would recommend upgrading the battery to an Optima!!!

Trust Me, I found out the hard way

My good old Camry's battery died, there were no lights at all in the car, none lit up on the dashboard etc. (not even the taillights were working), turns out there was 0.25 volts left on it

I shall thank too many speakers and two 12" subs sucking the juice dry

What they said. I've sat in parking lots for over an hour with my stereo on and no problems with starting. I've got a Red Top.

Ive got a Yellow Top, and b4 I did, I would set somewhere and be listening to my music and everytime the bass dropped, my interior lights dimmed...then the old battery got drained...soo I invested in an Optima...well worth it.

What are the 4 speakers are you considering? The head unit should be capable of pushing most door speakers. Mixing brands isn't a problem, I have a pioneer headunit, mtx 4 channel, mb quart components, and fosgate mono and sub.

I've heard an amp improves the quality so I thought I'd buy one. Dunno if its thats true or not but meh...

Umm I'm just getting round entry levelish 6x9's for the back and some similar 4 or 6 inch speakers for the front.

If your going with entry level coax speakers a decent headunit will be plenty. I'd recommend buying a sheet of sound Dampener. Then cutting holes for the speakers to fit in. This will eliminate the low range vibrations that sound like crap. With high end 6x9s or components a separate amp is the way to go, but it would be overkill with low end speakers. Besides the obvious cost of the amp itself, it multiplies the difficulty of your install.

Any thought put into a sub?

I think the bass that the standard speakers are gunna offer will be enough. My cars pretty old so all that a subwoofer will do is make alot of annoying rattles I suspect, and I don't really listen to overly bass intensive music.

Stock speakers are not sufficient. Get at least two 12" subs.
