Had a nice long slumber after the race and I woke up remembering the final hours of Le Mans. I guess that's a good thing. Minassian's driving was oh so entertaining in the wet on slicks.

It'd be interesting to see in a torture test if the engine was treated well and the gears changed early how long an F1 car could last.

I liked how he handled the car after the tire burst.

If you cut RPM's by 10% and made early gear changes, you'd look at losing 5 seconds a lap, and probably 6-8 hours of life at the most.

He was practically in opposite lock going down the Mulsanne.

The tarted up Audi that was designed by a different guy, to different rules, and manufactured by a different company?

However, Audi built the engine, and Peter Elleray had Audi Sport's resources availible to him, and he helped design the Audi R8C, and the now defunct RTN firm that Peter was employed by was owned by Volkswagen Group from 1998-2006(VAG sold RTN to British investors, and it went bankrupt earlier this year, which screwed up Creation's and Embassy's programs, which ironically Elleray now works for).

The chassis was unique, but just as how the Bentley Continental GT shares platforms and the basic engine with the Audi A8L W12, the Audi R8 and Bentley Speed 8 shared engines and various mechanical components, and some of the Speed 8s concepts(as well as the R8's) were carried over to the Audi R10, and likely to the R10's replacement if Audi stays in LMP1.

What will be interesting is what Peugeot will do in '09-according to Speed TV commentators, the Peugeot Le Mans program was scheduled to last for two years, so who know what will happen with them until late this year at the earliest.

Dis anyone find pictures of Lola-Mazda and #8 Peugeot accidents in qualis and Ortelli's crash in Monza?
I'm not a maniac and normally I don't like crash pics, but it's history, so that's why I need them...

Well, according to the Internet information they develop a hybrid prototype now which maybe will even race this year.

Head of Pug Sport was interviewed by Radio Le Mans just after the finish and said the company was committed to the race for the long term

Great race...watched all but 8 hours of it. Pug has a lot to learn from this one if they're to beat seasoned champions.

Ohhohooo. Dome mechanics love their cars
BTW, I completely agree that Dome was the most beautiful car at this year's Le Mans.

I got some great shots of it!
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.
