This picture was taken during a meet-up of the port photography group is started a while back. If any of the local guys want to join some time, feel free and let me know. We started with 3 guys(1st meet) and now we have 18 active members !

This leg is part of a tripod-crane. I was climbing up along a cage ladder between the other two legs, when I took this. The building behind is the former machine shop, which is being converted to school now !

Oh sorry. I created an image with a 'wider field of view' can I say by merging two pictures in Photoshop. In other words, I had two pictures on the same level capturing different parts of a scene which I then merged as one.

"In its most general sense, a panorama is any wide view of a physical space. It has also come to refer to a wide-angle representation of such a view — whether in painting, drawing, photography, film/video etc" (wikipedia.org)

    Hope this clears things up!

It's not these two.... one is 18mm and the other shot at 21mm

Why wouldn't you just back up a few feet... shoot wide and crop to a panoramic? I don't see the reason for all the Photoshop stitching gyrations.

Its not that simple. The more you back up on this shot the more of the foreground will be in the picture and less background. Your theory would have worked if I had wings or a pocket helicopter maybe.

And by the way, I didnt plan on doing a panorama when I originally took the pictures, I thought I might try it afterwards.

I got the idea from this guy: Check it out

Why do you guys always have to make our decisions so hard?
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
