Ok, both my parents own cars. Check. My mom and dad's cars have German navigation systems which have lovingly been named Holga and Dieter, respectively. Check. yes, but for those of us that dont have installed systems, it is handy to have. i have a garmin, and i dont always keep it in my car, but when i am going somewhere new it is great to put it up there. likewise, when my wife flew down here to FL to find us a place to ive, she just threw it in her bag and brought it with her. so again, its handy.

How much is a tom-tom? You can get a decent NAV equipped in-dash screen for about $700.
