i thought the UN/US stopped at the 48th parallel because china threatened a larger involvement if it was crossed? like i remember the first time it was crossed china threw in 300,000 infantry and pushed the UN back

The media simply published something the US said, and you're just using it as an excuse to attack America. The US did demand Korea not shoot the missles, but not because it they wanted to be world rulers, but to protect the country. We don't need to be shot at with missles right now, and have already told Korea we would attempt to shoot them down.

Had that said Europe demanded Korea not shoot the missles, you wouldn't have said a thing. The US isn't saying it's owner of the world. They even requested another country come with them when they talked to the Koreans.
