I promise this is the last time I'll use a photo of this theme....

I haven't had a lot of time to take any nice shots plus the weather is almost always single digits so bear with me as I struggle to adapt to cold weather, grey, nasty, photography....

oh how come when i enter a photo it isn't blown up automatically like the other entrants are?

I'll have to be more careful in the future...

Soloracer; like I said before, you might want to update the time and date setting in your D60. Exif data you know.

In that case you've got some funky EXIF editing going on. Data shows a D60, 40mm focal length, 1/60th sec shutter speed at f/8 and ISO200 on Oct. 12th at 6.06pm

    Heres what I'm getting:

    NIKON D60
    2008:10:12 18:06:27
    40.0mm (35mm equivalent: 60mm)
    0.017 s (1/60)
    f/8.0
    ISO 200

Which I believe is the same as Rasmus.

hehe, now I see how this picture makes sense, nicely done Leo,

although I don't get why some trees along the hilltop are blacker than the rest...

edit: Thawley, do you see that they are roots sticking halfway out of the water?

aiasib, I'd wager a guess and say it was levels adjustment on the sky to bring out the contrast but with a bad mask. Notice the sky is not as burnt in the reflection in the water, eg. the cloud just to the upper left of the sun.

    Really like the roots though.

    Oh well, I have a D60 but because I work for a paper sometimes I use a 40D, D3, and D90 depending on what's available.

Anyway, the D60 was set improperly, which I fixed...

    All better?

You get that effect when you cut two photogrpahs and paste them together using something like photoshop. One with an exposed sky and one with an exposed foreground. When you fail to properly cut out the darker trees in the "sky-exposed" picture you place them over the exposed trees in the "foreground-exposed" picture. This causes some trees to go black. Get what Im trying to explain?

Im not saying this is the case it just seems like that.
