    CAR November 1997:

Merc's tilting trike is a smart move
Mercedes unveiled the F300 Life-Jet show car, a three-wheeler that leans into bends. Tilting is computer-controlled by hydraulics according to cornering speeds and force. The structure is aluminium extrusions, and the two roof panels can be stored above the engine, ahead of the rear wheel. The A-class 1.6-litre engine gives 0-62mph in 7.7sec. The clutch operation and gearchange are electro-hydraulic as in an F1 car. It could go into production by 2000, possibly under the Smart brand.

    Unfortunately it never did.

Thanks very much for the pictures Gt1Street, it's much appreciated!

yeah but the carver uses a more sensibe rear end and kept the two tyres flat allowign better grip.
I reckon this thing would be a nightmare in the wet as it is getting car sized but will be limited to motorbike tyres to be able to tilt.
    Major mistake there guys

Matra went one better in '92, as well as the jumpsuit, we are all going to have silver swim caps and "cool" dark glasses
