First car game you ever played?

Mine was Sega Outrun, on a shady XT PC with 1 color Hercules Monochrome display. It ran at a blisteringly quick 12 MHz (with turbo enabled, otherwise a more civilian 4.7 MHz).

Here's what it looked like more or less, except imagine it being different shades of green:



Needless to say I played it into the ground!


The other one was testdrive. We're talking testdrive 1 here, as in the first ever rendition.

I still remember it now. You got to choose between a Porsche 911 Turbo, Lotus Esprit, Lambo Countach, Ferrari Testarossa and I think a Corvette. I thought it was the best game ever...

Rad racer was the one i played the most growing up. had it on NES. however i did play ivan the ironman stewart's offroad in the arcade. you know, the one with the 3 steering wheels side by side, red yellow and green.

The first game I remeber playing was a black and white game Mac game in which you could choose a Porsche 959 or a Ferrari F40. Unfortunately I don't remeber the name nor do I have any screenshots. That has to be at least 15 years ago.

The seconds was one I played at a friends one in his 386, yes back then this was considered high tech... It was called Grand Prix, and it was epic. I remember I though it was the best and most realist game I had ever seen. Of course looking at it now...



EDIT I also remeber Indianapolis 500, it was also fabulous... back then...

cmcpokey, did you say Ironman!? Man, I played that game a lot as well! Also still on said 1-Color monitor, but boy was it fun!

And Ferrer, I saw that Grand Prix game once at a friend's house. I think I still said something like: "It looks just like TV!"

I'm younger than you all, so no old games running on 3.58MHz Zilog Z80 microprocessors! It was Gran Turismo on the PlayStation, I remember myself trying to control my Mitsubishi GTO on Autumn Ring... good memories. I was 8 back then.

my first car game, since i am of the younger generation, was 'Total Drivin' for the PS1. It was an awesome game. so fun. Street racing,rallying,buggying. you name it!

Actually, my first racing game was on the original game boy, some racer game that i cant remember the name of, was probably so bad that it doesnt even have any info on the net!

MARIO CART!

I remember playing that on the Super Nintendo. It was a 2 player game.

I especially remember the battle matches and one track with all the ghosts (Boos?). There were holes in the track all over the place with no guard rails. I remember being dragged up by the character in the cloud with the fishing rod.

Oh I remember Test Drive, that was the one. I also had something called Grand Prix Circuit. Great memories...




Of Test Drive I'll always remembere the bloke with sunglasses inside the car in the intro.

The first Lotus Challenge on an Amiga 600, I think. I think its proper title was Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge. It was pretty ace.

OMG! You just remembered me tons of souvenirs! I remember my cousins played that all the time, you were actually THE player when you managed to reach level 3... it was so hard.
