    Good "Survival" Books?

I just finished reading a book called "Beyond Courage." It's about a man and woman and their son who were shipwrecked in the South Pacific. Floated on a dinghy in a northwest direction for 23 days until another ship saw them on a reef and rescued them.

Anyone here know of a book about a similar adventure?
I already have the excellent book by Piers Paul Read (Alive- the story of the Andes survivors). And I have "Into Thin Air."

-Zombie Survival Guide: Max Brooks (it's actually a survival manual, all about tactics and preparation; all you need to survive. Fun read.)
    -The Road: Cormac McCarthy

will edit later: there's another good one on the tip of my tongue.

    Yann Martel: Life of Pie

More than just a "survival"story but the biggest part is about a guy and some animals in a lifeboat. Look it up at Wikipedia. I can highly recommend it.

I've read Life of Pi, I think it's more to do with the metaphorical animals and the idea of children creating their own stories to deal with horrific events.

My best advice is to get the biggest book you can find because the more pages you have the longer it'll burn for.

    Thanks for the replies, everyone.
And no, Cobrafan427, I don't mind reading a non-adult book. Actually, some of those books for teens can be very informative and well-written.

I will check my local libraries and see what I can find.
