Although it does seem sketchy that all the high power battery sits beside the driver....

If its a Zytek and if it does well I am sure other interest will pop out....and I'd imagine Zytek will want that car to be on the grid for the 24 hours next year....

Please correct me if I'm wrong. The ACO hasn't finalized the rules for electric hybrids, right? If so I can only imagine how much the future regulations for hybrid prototypes hinge on Corsa's performance at petit.

AFAIK in Formula 1 the boost isn't so relevant, just son tenth per lap, but it should be use not to improve the overall performance but just to overtake.
in LMS there is a different type of racing, the race are longer, the cars are heavier and overtaking is easier, so probably the KERS's performance will be more consistent and durable.
something that F1 can't do, is recovering energy from the frontal wheels, but I think in LMS is much easier to do and that would allow to recover double the energy with the same components
maybe they are looking to improve the fuel efficiency more than obtaining an higher power.

I wonder if Zytek will switch to turbochargers with the new Q10 prototype. Jon Field from Intersport Racing was leading the Audis at Road America in early August in his # 37 Lola B06/10 with a twin-turbo'd AER V-8.

But Intersport has not done well any other time however.

I've heard that the MZR-R makes the most power in LMP2 which confuses me as according to Wouter, the I4 also causes less vibrational problems than the V8s in this class. Why then did Acura and Porsche opt for the 3.4L V8s - I heard the Acura may be based off an Indy engine(?). Maybe the V8s are torquier?

Maybe just easier to manage for cooling and other reason....perhaps also stronger structurally since the block is a chassis member....
