You are right. It was not easy finding a long enough open stretch to really open it up, even very early on a Saturday morning.

145-150 mph (my speedometer was bouncing alot) in my '88 Lotus Esprit Turbo on Highway 5. I didn't realize I was driving that fast until I glanced at my gauges. The car is extremely stable and handles beautifully at high speeds.

Approx 290 kph in a Ferrari, but needed all three lanes of the autoroute to control the car, but my favorite was a radar certified 268kph in my short nose D type Jaguar. Absolutely stable on the Mulsanne straight - could take your hands off the wheel.

Welcome to UCP. May I ask at what occasion you had the D-Type out? Maybe we caught you on camera.

It's out there every year before the practice on Wednesday and Thursday. I take the chief marshal round for a quick spin and we do a lap or two. I live at Le Mans. here's one at Goodwood.

180km in a TDV8 Landcruiser Sahara, and I think it had a lot left in it. However I also think it might be limited to 210km.
