I believe I made myself clear on FB.

    R50 or R36

Impreza has the WORST interior, its worse then the hyundai I30s we have at work.

this is going to transport two german shepherds, there isn't going to be much of an interior either way.
r36 is too costly and R50 is too big - want to downsize.
car will also be going on gravel roads and farms, so neither of those two qualify on that front either.

Well to be honest, an STi doesn't qualify either. Unless you're planning on mounting some skinnier wheels, gravel tyres and jacking it up a bit.

true, the ride height isn't exactly stratospheric either, but i feel okay about taking it off tarmac as opposed to the R36, if you know what i mean? the R36 is a bit 'nice' whereas the sti is ostensibly rally derived blah blah and all that.

Which one was the limp-wristed one in 06, was it just the WRX or was the STi a bit limp as well?

Having driven an 06 WRX I wouldn't call it limp wristed..

I think the rex wags will suit very well. Its a Subaru so you don't have to worry about the paint, mechanicals over dirt or any of those silly issues that would make you pussy around in a VW.

The US stats for the WRX in 07 were 224 hp and 226 lbft, in 08 they were 265 hp and 244 lbft. I'm assuming ours were similar.

Do we get the 2.0 still? I thought we got the 2.5 as well... Both of the above were US 2.5s.

the above car is likely a jap import given that the sti wagon was never sold here iirc?
