The Harvey Postlewaite designed Tyrrell 019 influenced all F1 designers for years to come; it pioneered the high nose. The under-powered engine was the weak part of the package, but the excellent chassis and aerodynamics more than made up for that.
Rookie Jean Alesi finished in second in the Monaco Grand Prix.
