Chassis:
The first Chevrolet Monza built by DeKon for a customer, chassis 1002 was sold new to Harry Theodoracopoulos. He crashed the car heavily during the very first practice and it had to be returned to DeKon for repairs. Here the chassis was fitted with an additional safety bar to make sure Theodoracopoulos would survive the next major impact. Running from the main roll hoop down to the passenger footwell area, it was dubbed the 'Harry Bar.' Once repaired, Theodoracopoulos raced the car at select events for two seasons but with little success. In 1978, it was acquired by William Wonder, who briefly raced it in IMSA events. It has since been restored to its original guise and full running order for historic events.
