Chassis:
Chassis 1003 was the third DeKon Monza built and was originally raced by the 'works' team. At its debut, in the 1975 Daytona Finale, Al Unser started the car from second but retired early in the race. For 1976, it was allocated to Michael Keyser, who was altogether more successful, scoring victories at Laguna Seca, Ontario, Mid Ohio and the Daytona Finale. Ahead of the 1977 season, it was sold to Brad Friselle, who scored a third at Sears Point and Laguna Seca. Liveried in a striking Wynn's livery, it was entered in the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans for Friselle, Robert Kirby and John Hotchkis. Their race did not last long as one of the heads failed, prompting an early retirement. Today, this DeKon Monza still boasts its Le Mans livery.
