Chassis:
Displayed at the 1965 London Racing Car Show, this is very first McLaren customer car produced. It was later sold to John Coombs, who fielded it at Silverstone for Graham Hill. American Jerry Entin acquired the car before the end of the year and Hill raced the car again at the LA Times Grand Prix at Riverside. The following year, this McLaren M1A famously starred in the motion picture 'Spinout', in which it was driven by Elvis Presley. Following its movie duties, chassis 20-01 was raced by Entin well into 1967. It has since been cherished by just a handful of owners, including the Matthews Collection, who at one point owned a fabulous selection of McLarens. Its most recent, Austrian custodian certainly has the appearance worthy of an ex-Elvis Presley competition car.
