Chassis:
The first of a pair of the two works cars, this example was raced by the factory only once at the Marne Grand Prix in 1936. It was subsequently sold to Tom Clarke in the United Kingdom and re-registered DUV870. In 1937, it was driven to outright victory in the Donington 12 Hours by Prince Bira and Hector Dobbs. It was subsequently sold to Rob Walker, who entered it for Arthur Dobson at Brooklands in 1939. He finished second in the first heat and won the second to claim outright victory. It continued to be raced until the early 1950s, making an appearance at Le Mans in 1949 and taking a victory at Goodwood in 1950. Still owned by the Walker family, it was brought out for the 2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed where Brooklands' centenary was celebrated.
