Chassis:
Priced at a baffling $15,000 in 1930, Murphy's Disappearing Top Torpedo Convertible Coupe was only available to a very select few in a Depression stricken United States. The Los Angeles' based coach-builder nevertheless managed to build and sell six examples of which this is the third of five short wheelbase chassis used. It stands out because of its polished steel bevel that runs all the way from the radiator to the tip of the tail. This rare Disappearing-Top Torpedo is seen here at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where Duesenberg was the featured marque.
