Chassis: XKD 601
Chassis XKD 601 was one of six works 'Long Nose' cars built for the 1956 season. Finished in Briggs Cunningham colours, it was raced at the Sebring 12 Hours and later back in British Racing Green, it competed in the Nürburgring 1000 km. On both occasions, chassis XKD 601 failed to finish. It did place second at Reims before Jaguar ceased its motorsport activities. It was later raced by Duncan Hamilton with a sixth at Le Mans as the most notable result. Following a heavy accident, Hamilton retired from racing. Later in the car's life, the D-Type was bought back by the Hamilton family but today it resides in the fabulous Ralph Lauren collection.
