Chassis:
The second of three BT24s built, this chassis was entrusted to Denny Hulme during the second half of the 1967 season. He scored one victory, finished second three times and was third twice in this chassis. Jochen Rindt raced it to third again at the 1968 season-opening South African Grand. With new cars readied for the start of the European season, chassis BT24-2 remained in South Africa and was sold to privateer Sam Tingle. He extensively raced the Brabham in local events for the better part of two seasons, and although a victory ultimately eluded him, Tingle did place the Gunston liveried machine on the podium many times. Another notable result was an eighth in the 1969 South African Grand Prix. Following one final outing early in 1970, Tingle retired the car. Restored to its Brabham works livery, this BT24 has been in the ownership of the Tingle family for over four decades. In 2013, it was brought out for the Goodwood Festival of Speed and subsequently offered for sale.
