Chassis:
Commissioned by a Belgian Mr Jean Francqui, this Phantom III was delivered as a rolling chassis to his local Rolls-Royce representative Andre Pissart in Brussels on September 1st in 1937. The car was then sent to the nearby Vesters & Neirinck factory, where it was fitted with an unusual two-door coupe body. Around eight of these were eventually built and this was the first without a B-pillar. Following its first public appearance at the 1938 Brussels Motor Show, it was later reportedly also used by the King of Belgium. The Vesters & Neirinck Coupe was also used by Field Marshal Montgomery after Brussels was liberated in 1944 and again by General Charles Keightley in Austria. During the second half of the 1960s, it was sold to the United States where it was subject to a ground-up restoration in 1994. After the work was completed, it won best in class awards at Pebble Beach and Meadowbrook. In 2005, it was offered by Blackhawk during their then annual Pebble Beach exposition.
