Chassis:
One of an estimated six Matra MS5s built to F3 specification, this car was delivered to motorcycle racer Claude Vigreux, who had won the French Volant Shell trophy for his exploits on four wheels in 1965. Vigreux only rarely raced the Matra as he preferred motorcycle racing. In 1967 it was raced by Jean Claude Guenard with a third at Albi as the best result. The following two seasons, chassis 06 was owned and campaigned by Max Bonnin but with little success. The car's final contemporary outings came in 1970 in the hands of Phlippe Monot. It was then sold to a French Matra enthusiast, who kept it for 35 years. Since 2005, it has changed hands twice more. Despite its lengthy racing career, chassis 06 was never crashed heavily and remains highly original.
