Chassis:
Acquired new by Andretti Autosport, this DW12 has been raced on the oval rounds of the IndyCar Championship by Ryan Hunter-Reay since 2012. It was first raced at that year's Indy 500 and clinched its first victory a few weeks later in Iowa. The points gathered with this chassis helped Hunter-Reay to win the 2012 championship. In 2013, he added a further victory to the car's tally. The 2014 season has been the car's most successful to date with a win in the all-important Indy 500 and another one at Iowa. Although still in service with Andretti Autosport, the car has been consigned to the January 2016 Gooding Scottsdale Auctions. The winning bidder will not only own the car but the team will also provide him with an 'ownership experience' that includes hospitality passes to all rounds Andretti Autosport competes in with the exception of the two races at Indy. At the end of its active racing career, it will be restored to its 2014 Indy 500 winning configuration and presented to the new owner.
