A Porsche factory car, this 908K debuted at the 1968 Spa 1000 km where it was entered for Hans Herrmann and Rolf Stommelen. They finished third overall after starting fifth. It was raced again at the Watkins Glen and Zeltweg rounds but on either occasion failed to reach the finish. In 1970, chassis 908-011 was sold to Swiss gentleman racer Claude Haldi. He campaigned the car in local events and hill-climbs until a crash in 1972 ended the Porsche's contemporary racing career. Still in damaged condition, the car was sold to German Sepp Greger in 1974. He stripped the car from most of its mechanicals to keep his other Porsches, which included a 907 and 908, in running order. In 1982, the remaining parts were sold to Joseph Reichpurner, who repaired the chassis and replaced the damaged nose. Ready for a complete rebuild, what remained of 908-011 was sold to American Dale Miller in 1998. He spent the next couple of years carefully restoring the car to its Spa podium finishing condition. In this guise, it was sold to the current owner in 2005. He has since shown and demonstrated the car at select events.
