Chassis:
The first Scirocco built, this was the car created specifically for Tony Settember. He raced it at a variety of events during the 1963 season until a lack of success and funds prompted to financier Hugh Powell to terminate the effort. The original Scirocco eventually followed the pair to the United States, where it at one point was fitted with a Ford small-block V8 for sand racing. The car was eventually found, without an engine, by John Harper during the 1980s. He sold the car to Graham Capell, who had the car comprehensively restored, sourcing a suitable BRM V8 engine from Hall & Hall. It has since been regularly campaigned in historic events, often alongside its sister chassis, by a succession of owners.
