Chassis:
The rolling chassis of this Model K had already been completed in 1926 but it was not until 1928 that a customer was finally found. He had the car clothed by Saoutchik with the striking 'La Baule' style Cabriolet bodywork, which could easily be identified by the low windscreen and completely disappearing top. Like all Saoutchik creations of the time, the very exclusive coachwork was also lavishly trimmed with chrome pieces. Completed late in 1928, the car was immediately shipped to the United States where it was delivered to its first owner through the New York distributor. By the 1970s, the very rare machine was acquired by collector Gerald Rolph, who had it comprehensively restored. The engine fitted at the time was not the original but came from a similar car, and was modified to match the Model K specification. In 2007, the Saoutchik Cabriolet entered the collection of the most recent owner.
