Chassis:
London-based German businessman Herbert Gumprecht ordered this 500 K through his local Mercedes-Benz dealer in February of 1935. He specified the striking Cabriolet A body from the Sindelfingen catalog. Gumprecht took delivery of the car in May of 1935 and would own it through to the end of 1938. It was sold to an enthusiast in Newcastle and passing through various hands, it remained in British hands until 1962 when it was acquired by a Swedish engineer living in the United States. By the early 1980s, it was repatriated and following a spell in Switzerland, it was bought by German marque specialist Klaus Kienle. He sold the car soon after that but was then tasked with the complete restoration by the next owner. It changed hands again in 2012 and was subsequently shown at various events in Europe.
