Chassis:
Although built in the early 1930s, chassis 46482 was not sold until 1950 when the executors sold off the Bugatti assets. Whether it was fitted at that point with the current body is not entirely certain. It is believed that this 'Superprofilée' body was originally fitted to a Type 50. After a short stay in the United States, this Type 46 was acquired by Fritz Schlumpf, joining the legendary Schlumpf Collection. Today the very beautiful Bugatti is displayed in the Musée National de l'Automobile / Schlumpf Collection in Mulhouse, France.
