Chassis: LML/50/9
With a crash on the road to Le Mans, the racing career of chassis LML/50/9 did not start particularly well. Fully repaired it was raced extensively in a wide variety of events ranging from the Tourist Trophy at Dundrod to the Shelsley Welsh hill-climb. During its long career it was piloted by many drivers of note like Stirling Moss, Roy Salvadori, Tony Rolt and Peter Collins. It was acquired from the factory by Rob Walker in the spring of 1951. He campaigned the car for himself and others until 1955.

After its retirement from active service, 'VMF 65' was sold to Woking Motors and eventually ended up in the hands of Nigel Mann. He loaned the car to the Le Mans museum where it was displayed between 1966 and 1979. The car's next custodian was Eric Thompson, who coincidentally would have driven the car together with Jack Fairman at Le Mans in 1950 if it had not been for the heavy accident. Thompson regularly raced the car before selling it on in the 1990s. For many years it was part of the impressive Leyba collection, which at one point consisted of 38 Aston Martins, including three of the five Team Cars. After a full rebuilt, it was raced twice at the Goodwood Revival. In 2010 chassis LML/50/9 was sold by the Bonhams in their annual Aston Martin sale for £513,000, which was well over the £440,000 pre-sale top estimate.
