Chassis:
Widely known as the 'Twenty Grand' Duesenberg for its original selling price, this Duesenberg SJ was clothed by Rollston with a design by Gordon Buehrig. It was built specifically as a show-car for the 1933/34 Chicago Century of Progress Exposition. The primary reason for the steep price tag was the finish to the highest standards both inside and out. The car has also been regularly referred to as the 'Arlington' but that name was actually used for a Derham Sedan built a few years earlier.
Today the spectacular fixed-head Duesenberg is part of the equally impressive Nethercutt Collection. In 1979 the car was completely restored and it subsequently won the coveted 'Best of Show' award in the 1980 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Still in superb condition, the 'Twenty Grand' returned to Pebble in 2007 when Duesenberg was the featured marque. In 2011 it won the 'Best in Show Concours d'Elegance' award at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.
