Chassis:
Using an existing chassis, this is the Type 59/50B built in 1939 and fitted with the 4.7 litre engine. It was briefly raced before the War broke out, scoring a class victory at the La Turbie Hillclimb and taking an outright victory at Monthléry. Immediately after the peace returned, it won again this time at the Coupe des Prisonniers in Paris. Bugatti later showed the Grand Prix racer at the Paris Auto Salon in 1946. It was eventually acquired by the Schlumpf brothers and is now on permanent display in the Musée Nationale de l'Automobile in Mulhouse.
