Chassis:
Built ahead of the 1979 season, this is the fourth and final RS 01 built by Renault before switching to the all new RS10. It was allocated to Jean-Pierre Jabouille along with RS 01/02 for the opening races that year. Although he used the car in practice several times, Jabouille only raced chassis 04 at the Argentinian Grand Prix where he retired with engine problems. Still owned by Renault and restored to full running order, it is seen here during during various events. Among the drivers are Rene Arnoux, who raced RS 01/03 in the opening rounds of the 1979 season, and Damon Hill, who piloted a Renault-engined Williams to the World Championship in 1996.
