For those who were lucky enough to see the Lancia Stratos in action, words would not explain the superiority of a car that if were to be reintroduced into the FIA rally championship would most certainly make EVO's, WRX's and Citroens be ashamed of the status they are currently receiving: SUPERSTARDOMSHIP. I personally saw a Lancia Stratos in the Kenyan Safari Rally in the late 70's being driven by a Kenyan Vic Preston Jr., he put Bjorn Waldergard to shame leaving a gap of almost 8 minutes between the his car and the second car, until the engine blew out with only 10 kms to the podium, because Mr.Preston somehow had the sheer impression that driving above the redline was Fun!!! Stratos is my favourite car ever and will forever be the favourite, Long Live Stratos (hope lancia does what ford did to its GT-40, reintroduction) |

This car is so many things, fast, elegent and all conquering. This car means so much to me and in its most flattering guise, clothed in Alitalia livery it snatched everything in sight. Doesnt matter whether it be road or rally version. I love them |

no matter how powerful or fast it was, this car was never in grp b, because grp b didnt exist till 1982. it was in the old grp 4, along with the old ford escorts and the fiat 131. |

The Lancia Stratos was one of the best rally cars in group B in the 1970's. It truly is an Itallian legend and should be remembered as one. I love to drive this car. ( In Sega Rally 2) |
