to me all nissan/infiniti has to do for me to love this car is call it an R35 skyline GT-R V-spec II and make it come with the same technology as the R34 skyine. I personally like the body now if it just has twin turbo, 4wd, and a 3.5 liter inline six I'm cool with it.
 You're all wrong!

"The new Nissan Skyline isn't just based on the G35, it IS the G35!! You forget that Nissan and Infiniti are one and the same. Nissan exports some of its cars to the U.S. as Infinitis. However, in Japan, the new skyline is available with 2.5 and 3.5 engines. Furthermore, the Nissan Cima and the Infiniti Q45 are, again, the same. I wonder how ""Fast and Furious"" the new Skyline will become..................."

Actually, jps27 is right... well, He's only half right. According to several sources, the next Skyline Coupe will be based on the same platform and have the same hard points as the G35 Coupe. It may not look like the G35, but if you look at the GTR concept from a couple years ago, you will see many similarities in shape and design. That is the strongest hint of what it may look like. Also, the Murano and the FX45 actually are based on the same platform. This platform is also shared with the FWD Nissan Maxima, Altima, and the RWD G35/Skyline and 350Z. That platform is engineered so that it can be configured any way Nissan sees fit, be it RWD, FWD or AWD. Also, if you study the 350Z's Chassis, you'll see that it very easily could accept an AWD drivetrain. This is where the Skyline comes in. The closest relations to the Skyline GTR in the Nissan/Infiniti Lineup will be the Z and G35. In Many respects, the G35 Coupe could be considered the successor to the 2+2 Z.
 WRONG jps27!!!

So little jps27 thinks he knows everything, eh? Well jps, the QX4 might be based on the Pathfinder, but the FX45 is not in any way based on the Murano. Firstly, the FX45 is rear-wheel-drive, compared with the Murano's front-wheel-drive. Secondly, the FX45 can have both V6 and V8 engines, while the Murano is V6 only (its' engine bay cannot accommodate a V8!). As for the G35, you may be surprised to know that the G35 was released first in the US, then later in Japan as the Skyline. And the coupe? Well, until recently, it was too a US only model, sold nowhere else in the world. It was released in Japan only a few months ago. And who cares if Infinitis are based on Nissans? Aren't Lexuses (or should that be Lexii?) based on Toyotas? And Acura's on Hondas? At least Nissan presents its' luxury division in a way in which Toyota or Honda can only hope to achieve!

Its based on Nissan Skyline 350GT :Nissan Skyline 350GT link: http://www.nissan.co.jp/EN/IMAGES/LINEUP/32_01.gif All Infiniti's are based on a Nissan Japan platform. Infiniti QX4, based on the Pathfinder. The FX45 is based on the Murano. Only minor body modifications only.

My beloved BMW company (i don't actually own one) has become cdommonplace and almost boring in comparison to charismatic new opposition. I promised that i would rue the day that BeeEm would become staid and dull, but the G35 adds that final nail into the coffin. Ah well, at least we are in for some intersting times with the launch of the new bangle (bungled, maybe) 3/5/1/Z series coming out anytime soon. HE gives american design a bad name...

If I had to make the same choice, I'd choose this. First off it performs better than the bimmer. And it looks stunning. I love the deseign. It may not be as comfortable or have the same level of materials inside as the 3 series, but it more than makes up for that in performance and style. Also, given the fact that it's a Japanese car with Nissan's popular 3.5 V6 means it costs much less to tweak it, something I'd have to do. 3 series BMW's just scream spoiled rich boy to me, and jokes of over compensating for other areas are enecitable. The 3 series coupe is a beautiful car, but this is just far more sleek. I love, and as soon as I can get the money to buy a used one, I'm doing it.
 this or 330ci sport????

Well this is really difficult. The infiniti looks ok, performs brilliantly, nice interior but a bit plain, not as common as the 3-series but I will still take the 3 series

Looks to me like a 2001 Nissan Skyline. It's nice to see that it's finally been sent to N.A. and maybe this means that the GTR will also make it.

Why don't Nissan import this brand to Europe and why are they as Toyota using old and new Nissan passenger cars as beefed up Infiniti's. Strange model and brand policy.!! Why dont make world cars and get the volumes up.!! BMW.MB,VW,Audi are good sellers all over the world, so who have misunderstood here.??? Time for a change, but ten points to Infiniti. Hope it invade Europe soon.!!
