Check this out... I just noticed on http://www.tigersharkcorvette.com you can now buy the White Shark body parts from them. And, it has a carbonfiber hood! Very cool!

"I think this is a great car. As far as transmissions go, an automatic is not that strange at all. Automatics (planetery gears) are inherently stronger by design than manuals and can handle more torque, not to mention multiply torque via the converter on launch, and shift much faster than a manual. Just look at the racing world--drag racing, that is-- where automatics rule. In fact, many people use TWO-speed autos (""powerglides"" originally by GM). Now, all of these automatics are manually shifted (and can only be manually shifted) however. Even (drag) racing ""manual"" transmissions are usually outfitted with automatic tranny designs such as torque converter (i.e. liberty 5-speed manual gearbox can be outfitted with a tq convrtr), or using planter gears stacked sequentially with a clutch that's only used when launching (i.e. lenco transmissions)."

i have to agree with a remark a couple of things down, why on earth would you put a 500 hp motor in a vehicle with a 4 speed trany. this might even have been ok if it was manual but its an automatic, whats up with that? while corvettes have always been my favorite car and always will be i have to question gm on why they did this. none the less i still think this is an ausome car that would blow all rice burners away no matter if they had a stage 4 turbo with nos and the works, or even if they had a stage 7 turbo (i know it dosn't exist)

This thing is beutiful! They should make a package like this from the factory for the Corvette! Almost reminds me of the Greenwood Camaros of the early to mid '90s

I just saw this car at the San diego car show and it grabbed my attention now! The carbon fiber engine compartment looks great. The rear end with the built in spoiler looks very factory, in a good way. The wheels don't really do this car justice, but you can always change those. Overall a very nice ride.
Nice, but I like the Tiger Shark (Coupe) better.

"I agree with what was said below that they should have made it with a Coupe instead of the Hardtop. With that rear spoiler, it really needs the rear glass of the Coupe to fill in the area in between to look right, IMHO. I found the following website that has some cool info on the related concept car, the Tiger Shark. Tiger Shark Corvette.com http://www.tigersharkcorvette.com I wonder if these concepts are ""tests"" to see if the public would like the ""Shark"" look for the upcoming C6? -TargaC5"""

This looks great, I like the small spoiler at the back, not too obvious. It has some quirks but overall I like it. Especially the 512 bhp engine.
 Make it the Coupe instead!

I really don't like the hard-top of the C5 so I'd rather prefer a C5 coupe white shark. I also think 1 inch larger rims would look better since the body looks a little heavy with those wheels on. One last comment about the paint work: it looks nice but I think a simple scratch would turn the owner really really mad, the chin-spoiler, in particular, looks a lot vulnerable to road menaces, and you know how even a little imperfection is SOOOO evident on a light coloured car!

This Machine is the kind of monsters that guys like me desire in the Highway and Officers of the Law don't. Why?. Simply because is the a part of the American History that they can't catch. I like it. (And I respect officers as well).

The images are credited to GM, so this must be a one off from the GM special works division, or whatever they call it.

A four-speed auto? wow thats sort odd for such a high level sports car. And anyhow, is this a factory concept or a one off from a tuner? Maybe I missed it in the text description. Either way, a four speed auto seems to be rediculous for this application. I would question its ability to handle 500 horsepower and equally high levels of torque. I'm sure in any case it would be quite fast.
Is there a boy racer in me somewhere?

Despite not wishing to lower any-one's opinion of me, the first thing I thought was that this car is in desperate need of a bigger set of alloys. I've always thought the Corvette C5 as raced at Le Mans looked far superior to the standard, so why not utilise a bit of racing heritage and fit bigger wheels, I'm sure the extra space within could then accommodate bigger brakes. Oh well form over function (must be getting younger).
