"Hey genious! Since 1967 Ford has been claiming that they are very very close to have a supercooler throwing out a massive ammount of horsepower, of course it had been rising in the past 35 years. And since this 2004 engine hasnt been produced PUBLICLY yet that means they still have nothing. Just because you use some played out Thunder is just noise quote at the end of every argument does not make anything youre saying sensible. You have Dynoed specs on an unproduced to the public engine. These vehicles are in produced for the public in Canada. When you actually see one of these hammer down on the streets you'll finally know whats coming out of your mouth. Because along with that ""supercooler"", what you saying is just garbage. ""Thunder is just noise, Lightning is just SHIT"""

"What are you talkin' about ""since 1967""? Yer an idiot! Whatever the case, you apparently can't read. The Specs on the New Lightning clearly state that the intercooler would be in addition to the 500 HP! Ya bonehead! The Ford gets to the horsepower and more importantly, the torque quicker @ 3250 than your little piece of SST @ 4200 rpm. I'll be in 3rd by the time you shift to 2nd. Holeshot's in our court twit. The fact that you got impressive #'s out of a 402 is a plus and much better than the SRT's 505, but the HP-Tq / CI displacement puts the Lightning way out front. Like I said before, Lightning does the work, Thunder is just noise. You're just noise."

This is a response for the idiot below me. I cannot believe that some jackass would actually say a lightning could handle the SST. That has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Sure Ford says theyre working on an intercooler and are almost finished with it and it will take the SVT to 500 hp. But considering that theyve said that its almost finished every year since !!!NINETEEN SIXTYSEVEN!!!!... Theres no chance in hell that this will even be able to rub asses with the SST at the track, so sir, please know what youre talking about before you open your mouth!

who cares...the 2004 svt lightning will easily take this thing out. It is far superior, and if you take a look at it, you'll know what i'm talking about. Chevy isn't a bad company, but ford is just a bit better, especially when it comes to trucks. On the other hand, dodge is just plain shit. Every car they produce sucks, and most of them are just spin offs of other cars. like the srt-4, wtf is that shit?? it's a copy of the wrx, except it sucks. Anyways, check out the svt lightning.
 ok?????

I think it is fine and dandy but they should change the look into a low rider and through some neon lights and a larger engine and i would call it and beaut and make it part of my family and get rid of my girl fried

Oh go on my son! I have the boggest grin, ear to ear! I cannot believe Chevrolet actually let this one go into production! The idea's been around for a long time, but restricted only to Chevrolet's scpecial vehicles division - a bunch of guys whose job is to play with tuning Chevy's. This is for those who think the Silverado SS is too tame! It may be 20hp short of the Dodge equivalent, but by Christ does it get it down better. AND it has that Chevy small block V8 growl that tears underwear of pretty girls at 100 metres! This actual model has been in existence for over a year, because I worked on it when I was with General Motors in May, and we were putting the final touches to it then. It's the most unbelievable machine, with so much power, noise, and of course style that it really does take the crown for this market. It picks up so quickly, and the throttle response is amazing. The manual gearbox is also fantastic. While Americans are scared of anything that doesn't operate itself, us Brits LOVE a bit of a swift gear change or two. This box is a bit scary, being as it is pretty much straight from the 800hp NASCAR series vehicles, but narly as it looks, it's actually very purposeful. It's direct, smooth, accurate, and very tight. You know when it's gear basically. This has to be the ultimate street cruiser for me. I HAVE to get one now!
Has it gained looks but lost its purpose?

hahaha. im the first to comment, yeah! No doubt abt it, the truck looks fuckin amazing this way. but now its a highway cruiser and not a hardcore pikup anymore. not that i mind, but chevy is turning its backon te customers that bu this truck cos its unstoppable offroad, and looking towards LA's tuners commetee. they could hav introduced this as a new model, instead of giving it the silverado badge, would have causeda great interest.
